Additionally, VPARS supports testing of loosely-coupled TPF systems. All TPF virtual machines participating in a loosely coupled environment write to the same VPARS database. Each virtual machine must have write links to all disks in the database. VPARS provides only the multi-write capability. Record locking is the responsibility of the application.

Hardware requirements:

• IBM XA or ESA processor or equivalent.
• Enough DASD to hold each user's VPARS database.
• Tape drives for the TPF logging and input for each user, or VPARS companion product VTAPE for virtual tape support.
